HOLA! I am Maria Jose Power and I would love to meet you!

I am originally from Mexico and my story about the makeup and beauty industry began when I was very little and passionate for makeup as you can see from the picture where I am next to my mamá, who has also always been my biggest inspiration in every aspect in my life. 

 

In 2006, I completed my first beauty course in Mexico. Through this, I gained knowledge and began to practice on my sisters and friends as a hobby. Later in 2014, after finishing my bachelor’s degree on Environmental Sciences, I became more engaged and I started my journey as a solo Hair&Makeup Artist doing hair & makeup for all occasions in Queretaro city and San Miguel de Allende, which are prime locations for weddings.

 

I also have experience doing hair & makeup in all types of weather, such as on Acapulco beach or in dry cities like Queretaro and on different types of skin, as I've been able to get to know a lot about so many cultures like South Asian, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.

I completed a bridal specialization in 2020 with the Cristina Cuellar Institute; one of the biggest beauty schools in Mexico. I have more than 20 diplomas involving makeup and hair trends. In June 2018, I completed a makeup class in Vancouver at the Faye Smith Agency, and I continue to learn and innovate each day, keeping up with trends and techniques so I can stay current.

 The style that I stand for goes from super soft and natural to full glam. 

The best feeling I get from this amazing job is to empower women to enhance their unique natural beauty, find the best version of themselves and make them feel beautiful through the power of makeup.
